JSW MG Motor India, previously MG Motor India, has achieved a major milestone by surpassing 1 lakh electric vehicle (EV) sales in India since entering the market in 2020 with the ZS EV.

This makes MG the second carmaker in the country—after Tata Motors—to cross the six-figure EV sales mark.

MG’s electric journey in India began with the ZS EV in January 2020, followed by the compact Comet EV in April 2023. Then came the Windsor in September 2024 and its extended-range version, the Windsor Pro, in May 2025, which significantly boosted the brand’s sales momentum.

Today, electric vehicles account for over 70% of the company’s monthly sales, and MG holds a 35% share of India’s growing EV market, up from 26% at the start of 2024.

Beyond sales, JSW MG Motor India has been actively developing a stronger EV ecosystem. The company’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) initiative simplifies ownership, and the MG Charge program aims to install 1,000 chargers across India within 1,000 days.

MG’s EV range in India, includes the ZS EV, Comet EV, and Windsor lineup. The brand has also entered the premium EV segment with its MG Select portfolio, featuring models like the Cyberster roadster and M9 MPV.
